Learn More about Blended Learning & Distance Learning!

  • You study on iLearn each week at your own pace, referring to your study materials when it is time to complete assignments.
  • The university academic year consists of four semesters.
  • Each semester is 10 weeks long, with nine weeks of teaching.
  • Each degree programme is made up of modules of study.
  • Each module is a specialised unit of learning which is worth a number of credits (usually 20 credits).
  • You will study up to 6 modules each academic year.
  • As a distance learner, 100% of your study takes place online.
  • Each module has a set of online learning materials that have been designed specifically for the module.
  • You will access these materials via our virtual learning environment (VLE) which is called iLearn.
  • We also have a fully stocked online library that includes everything you need for your degree: from textbooks to specialist databases.
  • Alongside your online independent study, you will also have the opportunity to meet with lecturers and peers online to explore your learning together.
